Welcome to LongHandPixels Press
Hello, my name is Scott Gilbertson and for many years I ran Wired’s Webmonkey.com.
In March of 2013 Wired shut Webmonkey down and, after a brief vacation, LongHandPixels Press was born. Please head over to the about page for the full LongHandPixels Story.
My goal for LongHandPixels is to publish three or four ebooks per year, covering single topics with a style that’s easy to read and easy to understand.
I hope these books will educate and inform without overwhelming. Web development today is more complex than ever. Forget building anything, just keeping track of all this new stuff is a full time job — one that I’ve had for 13 years. Now I want to bring the same wit and clarity that made Webmonkey famous to the ebook format.
The first book will cover responsive web design – fluid layouts, media queries and flexible media, but also more advanced elements of RWD like mobile first development, as well as some tips and tricks for building faster responsive sites.
My goal is to have this book available by the end of October. In the mean time I’ll be excerpting some chapters on the blog here and giving away some PDF samples on the mailing list. If you’re interested drop your email in the box below.
Thanks for reading, and if you have any questions feel free to hit me up at [email protected].
